Model's Description: Wheel of Homology: From A to Chimpanzee 3d model contains 3,592,980 polygons and 1,745,355 vertices. Skeleton of the right forelimb of 25 vertebrate species, with elements colored to demonstrate anatomical homology. For each model, annotations link to a full resolution, individual 3D model for that specimen. This scene was created by Jaimi Gray (oVert team). Meshes were assembled by segmenting CT data sets and obtaining pre-existing files (see link below for more details). Meshes of forelimb elements for each specimen were separated, repositioned, and colored using Blender and Meshlab. Scene assembled in Meshlab and evolutionary tree created in Blender. Details about mesh sources and links to data sets on morphosource can be found here |
