Two fountains like this one are surrounding the 3000 years old Luxor obelisk Designed by Jacques Ignace Hittorff, completed during reign of king Louis-Philippe in 1840. Interesting fact, during french revolution, the guillotine was placed on this place and this is where king Louis XVI was beheaded.
