Relevant Mission: Notional Mars Surface Systems Date Added: July 20, 2015 *copyright: nasa3d.arc The Space Exploration Vehicle (SEV) concept is designed to be flexible depending on the destination; the pressurised cabin can be used both for missions in space and for exploration of the surface of planetary bodies, including near-Earth asteroids and Mars. The surface exploration version of the SEV has the cabin mounted on a chassis, with wheels that can pivot 360 degrees and travel at about 10 kilometres per hour in any direction. It is about the size of a pick-up truck (with 12 wheels) and can accommodate two astronauts for up to 14 days with sanitary and sleeping facilities.
