Sea Mine | Scarborough Harbour 3D Model |
|
Model's Description: Sea Mine | Scarborough Harbour 3d model contains 100,000 polygons and 49,981 vertices. An old sea mine, sat near West Pier at Scarborough harbour, North Yorkshire. Now painted and repurposed as a charity collection box. I’m not going to bother trying to identify it, I spend ages trying to ID the last one and couldn’t be sure of it (https://skfb.ly/6RsLI). This mine does have ‘Hertz’ horns, designed to detonate the main charge on contact, as opposed to the magnetic detonation design of the last one. Mines that looked a lot like this were ubiquitous in naval warfare around Great Britain in both World Wars, and indeed may remain a danger to shipping today when they turn up. 166 images shot in November 2022. Processed in Metashape. Stunning location next to a bin and some lobster pots. - Sea Mine | Scarborough Harbour - 3D model by Nick Mason Archaeology (@nickmason) |
