Model's Description: Residential building proj. 9683/17 "House-glass" 3d model contains 100,210 polygons and 53,537 vertices. According to this apartment-type dormitory project, 8 houses were built in Leningrad (USSR), two of which received a round extension for public institutions. The only building outside of Leningrad, the dormitory of the Krasny Oktyabr factory in Vitebsk, was built in 1979. The Belarusian building is distinguished by the number of floors (18) and facade finishing. Among the people, the house received the nicknames “Glassful”, “Corn”, “Barrel”. Due to the strange layout, there was a tale circulating around Leningrad that these buildings were masking missile silos hidden inside. One of the residents of the house recalls: “I still remember the first time I was looking for a way out - like Semyon Farada in The Enchanters! All doors are the same. And the corridor never ends! How to get off the floor? And, most importantly, I can’t find where I came from either … I squatted down and grabbed my head until someone came out to smoke.” On the map, they are marked as sights and have a fairly high rating among citizens |
