Monumental staffage building on the grounds of the Lednice-Valtice UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Landscape in the Czech Republic. The Reisten Colonnade near Valtice Castle stands on the highest hill of the cultural landscape. The building is a combination of a triumphal arch in the center and colonnades arranged on the sides. In the corner pavilions spiral staircases lead to the roof terrace. It was built under Prince Johann I Joseph of Liechtenstein in memory of his father Prince Franz Josef I of Liechtenstein and his brothers Prince Alois I of Liechtenstein and Philip Josef. The Reisten Colonnade was begun by Joseph Hardtmuth from 1810 to 1817, and continued under Joseph Kornhäusel in 1813. Joseph Klieber worked on the building decoration until 1823. After a damage in 1907, the building was restored under Carl Weinbrenner. During the Cold War and until 1989, the building served as an observation post for the border troops of Czechoslovakia
