Model's Description:

Oak (pedunculate) pollen, dehydrated 3d model contains 326,736 polygons and 163,350 vertices.

Pollen from English/European/pedunculate oak (Quercus robur, Fagaceae). This pollen grain had probably been dehydrated before being prepared or scanned, so it’s folded up along its three colpi (long apertures). You can see the difference between this and a well-hydrated oak pollen grain, here. Technical description of Quercus robur pollen, from PalDat (Diethart & Bouchal, 2018): medium-sized isopolar monads, spheroidal or prolate, circular to lobate in polar view, tricolpate, with a scabrate exine. This model is part of the 3D Pollen Project.
